Lane closure scheduled for I-75 in
Fayette County
Core drilling for road samples
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a lane closure scheduled for I-75. The temporary closure is necessary for core drilling operations. Core drilling will be used to obtain samples from the roadway.
Wednesday, Oct. 22 – 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Interstate 75 – Southbound
- the left lane of Interstate 75 will be closed from Iron Works Pike/Exit 120 to the I-64/I-75 Split
- the closure will be between milepoints 119.5 and 117.8
- motorists will be able to pass through the work zone in the center and right drive lanes
All work and/or closures are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
