Paving project planned for KY 30 in Owsley County beginning Monday, Oct. 20
Vehicles must be moved from courthouse square, Park and Ride lot
JACKSON, Ky. – A milling and paving project scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 20, on KY 30 in Owsley County will require parking restrictions in downtown Booneville.
The work zone extends from the intersection with KY 11 in Booneville (milepoint 8.606) to the intersection with KY 1411 (milepoint 10.278).
All vehicles parked on the south and east sides of the Owsley County Courthouse (Court Street and Mulberry Street) will need to be moved while the project is underway. Milling will take place on Oct. 20, with paving to follow on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 21-22. No parking on these two sides of the courthouse square will be allowed while the project is underway.
The Park and Ride lot located on the west side of the Owsley County Courthouse, at the corner of Main Street and Court Street, will also be repaved as part of this project. No parking will be allowed at this location while the work is underway. All vehicles parked in this lot will need to be moved prior to Monday morning.
Drivers should expect delays while the work is ongoing. Motorists should reduce speed, watch for workers and equipment, and obey all traffic control devices and directions of flaggers.
In case of inclement weather, the project may be delayed.
