BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Oct. 10, 2025) – A temporary closure of Exit 7 U.S. 231 Morgantown Road on Interstate 165 in Bowling Green is set to begin. The on and off ramps in both directions will close Sunday, Oct. 12 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Monday, Oct. 13 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The bridge will remain open for those using U.S. 231, but all access ramps to and from I-165 will close.  

Motorists on I-165 needing to use Exit 7 should detour to Exit 5 U.S. 68. Message boards and additional signage will be in place. The closure is necessary for milling and paving operations that’s part of the Double Crossover Diamond Interchange (DCD) that is being retrofitted to the interchange. The entire DCD project is expected to be completed in early November.
