TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closures on Garrs Lane and I-264 (Watterson Expressway) Beginning Today, Oct. 8
Contract crews will conduct routine bridge maintenance and repairs through Oct. 31
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 8, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of lane closures on Garrs Lane and Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) for routine maintenance beginning today, Oct. 8.
Work began on Garrs Lane, under the I-264 bridge, today, Oct. 8. Traffic on Garrs Lane will be reduced to one lane through the end of the week. Next week, work will move to I-264 (Watterson Expressway). Both directions of I-264 will have limited overnight lane closures. All lane closures will be removed when not in use, and work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31. No detours are anticipated.
The lane closures are necessary for crews to complete bearing and concrete repairs, and joint seal replacements on the structure. Motorists should use caution, heed signage, and allow extra travel time during the lane closures.
