LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 3, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled lane closures for Lexington Road/US 68 in Mercer County. The temporary lane closures are necessary for cribbing work.
Cribbing is a construction technique that involves creating temporary structures to support heavy loads. It ensures stability and safety during construction activities. It’s primarily used to stabilize or elevate heavy objects or equipment, preventing potential collapses and ensuring worker safety.
Monday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 8 – 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day/evening (times are approximate)
Lexington Road/US 68
- lane closures will be in effect at milepoint 19.325
- emergency vehicles will be able to pass through the work zone
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
