4pm Update Traffic Alert: I-65 Northbound in Hart County
All lanes now open
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (September 25, 2025) – As of 4pm, all lanes of I-65 in Hart County are now open.
---11:45am Update---
As of 11:45am, there are two secondary I-65 northbound collisions just north Munfordville (Exit 65). All traffic is now being detoured at Exit 65 via US 31W to Upton to rejoin the interstate. Traffic along the US 31W corridor from Horse Cave through Munfordville, Bonnieville and Upton is extremely congested. Rain is falling in the area and stopping distances are reduced. Local traffic is advised to use additional caution at intersecting routes along US 31W. Northbound I-65 motorists may wish to exit before reaching Munfordville and navigate to the US 31E corridor, continue north toward Hodgenville and take Lincoln Parkway toward Elizabethtown and rejoin the interstate to avoid additional delays.

As of 11am local time, the traffic queue between the detour exit and the collision location has been cleared out. All lanes remain blocked and the detour remains in place as vehicle removal continues. A remaining time estimate for reopening is 1-2 hours.

All northbound I-65 lanes are blocked near Mile Marker 74, which is between Bonnieville and Upton. Motorists are advised to use US 31W in advance of Bonnieville as a detour and rejoin I-65 in Upton or Sonora. Clearing is expected to take 2-3 hours.
