Update - Project progressing for Mt. Sterling in Montgomery County
Sidewalk reconstruction
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 5, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this news release serves as an update for a scheduled improvement project in Mt. Sterling. The work includes sidewalk reconstruction. Motorists can pass through the work zone. The anticipated completion date for the entire project is Friday, December 19, 2025.
Friday, Sept. 5 through Friday, Dec. 19 – 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. weekday work
Main Street/North Maysville Street intersection and Court Street (CS)
- southbound traffic is now open at the southbound approach of the Main Street/North Maysville Street intersection
- sidewalk reconstruction continues for both sides of the street within the midblock
- the left turn lane on the Eastbound approach remains closed
- northbound traffic will remain open throughout the duration of the work
- traffic control devices are in place to guide northbound traffic through and around the work zone
- advanced warning signage is posted to alert motorists
Locations:
Main Street – between milepoints 5.05 and 5.22
North Maysville Street – between milepoints 9.48 and 9.56
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
