Project scheduled for Mt. Sterling in Montgomery County

Sidewalk reconstruction

LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 19, 2025)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a scheduled improvement project for Mt. Sterling. The work includes sidewalk reconstruction. Motorists will be able to pass through the work zone. The anticipated completion date for the entire project is Friday, December 19, 2025.

Monday, August 25 through Friday, Dec. 19 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. work will be in effect for weekdays

Note: the lane closure will remain for the weekends

Main Street/North Maysville Street intersection and Court Street (CS)

  • sidewalk reconstruction will be for both sides of the street within the midblock
  • a lane closure will be in effect for approximately two weeks on North Maysville Street
  • northbound traffic will remain open throughout the duration of the work
  • southbound traffic will be closed for the area
  • traffic control devices will be utilized to guide north and southbound traffic through and around the work zone
  • advanced warning signage will be posted to alert motorists

Locations:

Main Street – between milepoints 5.05 and 5.22

North Maysville Street – between milepoints 9.48 and 9.56

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
