Evening/Overnight Lane Closures on I-71 Northbound in Gallatin County on Thursday, Aug. 14

KYTC maintenance crews will perform pothole patching

COVINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 14, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of evening/overnight traffic impacts on Interstate 71 in Gallatin County on Thursday, Aug. 14. Our KYTC Gallatin County maintenance crew will be performing pothole patching to improve safety for all road users.

Crews will be working on the three lane portion of I-71 northbound from one mile northeast of the Sparta exit (58 mile point) to southwest of the Glencoe exit (60 mile point), a distance of two miles. This work will include a double lane closure throughout the project area between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.

While this work is being performed overnight to mitigate traffic impacts, motorists should plan ahead and find alternate routes to avoid any potential traffic delays.

Weather permitting, this project is expected to be completed Friday, Aug. 15 at 5 a.m.

Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
