KY 453 Canal Bridge, South of Grand Rivers, to Close for Inspection on Thursday, Sept. 4
PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 26, 2025) – The KY 453 Canal Bridge near the Livingston-Lyon County line will be closed to all traffic on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, for a scheduled inspection.
Due to current weight restrictions, the bridge must be closed during the inspection process to ensure safety.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) crews will use an under-bridge inspection vehicle (UBIV) and climbers to perform a thorough, hands-on inspection.
The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic at about 3 p.m.
Located just south of Grand Rivers, the KY 453 Canal Bridge connects KY 453/Dover Road to the Woodland Trace and serves as the northern entrance to the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
