Paving Work Planned Today, Aug. 4 on U.S. 60 in La Center Near Ballard Memorial High School
PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 4, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will be paving today, Monday, Aug. 4, along U.S. 60 in front of Ballard Memorial High School in La Center.
Crews will be leveling and paving in the new designated right-turn lane.
This phase of work is expected to start at around 8 a.m. and be completed by the end of the day, weather permitting.
Please watch for signage and use caution in the work zone.

PADUCAH, Ky. (July 16, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a work zone lane restriction along U.S. 60 between Barlow and La Center starting on Thursday, July 17.
KYTC District 1 crews will be working near Ballard Memorial High School to construct a new designated right-turn lane.
This school safety project will separate school drop-off traffic from through traffic, helping to reduce congestion and minimize the risk of rear-end collisions.
Motorists should be alert for signage and one lane traffic near mile point 9.9, between the entrances to Ballard County Elementary School and the high school. An automated flagging device will be used to control alternating traffic flow.
Weather permitting, the work will take place intermittently over the next two weeks.
Please use caution where workers and equipment are along the roadway near traffic flow.
