Expect overnight delays around Leestown Road beginning tonight
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 30, 2025) – Construction for the New Circle Road (KY 4) Widening project in Lexington will require a temporary road closure of inbound Leestown Road (U.S. 421) going south. The closures will allow for pier column construction.

The outbound lanes of Leestown Road will remain open on the other side of the overpass (northbound). The closed lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the morning of Thursday, July 31. The closure will repeat beginning at 10 p.m. on Thursday, reopening by 5 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1.
For alternate routes, drivers can use the KY 4 westbound outer loop (New Circle Road) to KY 1681 southbound (Old Frankfort Pike) to KY 4 eastbound inner loop (New Circle Road) to US 421 (Leestown Road).
