District 1 Roadshow: Traffic Impact Report for Aug. 3-9
PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 1, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet anticipates ongoing work zone construction and long-term maintenance activities at the following locations in District 1:
Ballard County U.S. 60 has a reduced speed limit of 35 mph between Stafford Road (13.648 MP) in Ballard County and Bethel Church Road (0.385 MP) in McCracken County. This is for ongoing work near the new section of U.S. 60 being constructed around Kevil.
KY 2532/County Line Road will be closed from Crossett Road to U.S. 60 for approx. four weeks, starting on Aug. 6, to allow for realignment with the new U.S. 60. The roadway is expected to reopen on about September 3, weather permitting.
The intersection of U.S. 60/Kentucky Drive and KY 358/Bluegrass Drive in La Center is a flashing four-way stop. Intersecting roadways are KY 358/Bluegrass Drive and Olive Street.
Calloway County A temporary diversion road is in place at the 10.843 MP on KY 121 South, southeast of Murray, around the construction of a new bridge over Clayton Creek. Reduced speed limit of 45 mph. Estimate for project completion around mid-September, weather permitting.
Carlisle County An extended lane restriction is in effect along U.S. 51 in Carlisle County, near mile point 1.7 just north of Arlington, for the construction of a new bridge. One lane traffic with alternating flow and a 10-foot lane width restriction. Access to Railroad Street closed near U.S. 51. Estimate for project completion around by April 30, 2026.
Crittenden County KY 387/Dam 50 Road is closed at the 0.77 MP for construction of a new Crooked Creek Bridge. This closure will block access to KY 91 for most residents along a 3-mile section of KY 387. Estimate for project completion around early November, weather permitting.
Fulton County KY 94/E. Carroll Street is closed due to a slide near the 12.7 MP in the city of Hickman. The roadway is closed to thru traffic.
KY 166 is closed at the 9.05 MP, near the KY 1125 intersection, for the construction of a new bridge. Estimate for project completion around the end of August, weather permitting.
KY 1128 is closed at the 6.37 MP due to the closure of a bridge over Mud Creek. This section of KY 1128 is located between KY 1127 and KY 1212. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
KY 1907/Swamp Root Road is closed at the 1.727 MP at the Little Bayou de Chien Bridge. KY 1907 connects KY 94 and KY 781 northeast of the Cayce community. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
KY 2140 is closed at the 3.767 MP between KY 94 and KY 1129. A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimate for project completion around the end of August, weather permitting.
KY 1282 is closed at the 4.741 MP at the Owens Slough Bridge. This is between KY 311 and KY 925 near the intersection of Joe Parker Road. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
Graves County KY 1485/Bellville Road is closed at the 2 MP at the Terrapin Creek Bridge about two miles north of the KY-TN State Line. This bridge is scheduled to be replaced. The project is expected to start by late September/early October.
KY 1748 is closed at the 0.12 MP at the Obion Creek Bridge. This section of KY 1748 is located between KY 339 and Oldham Lane, east of Wingo. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
KY 2422 is closed at the 5.3 MP due to damage to the bridge approach caused by flooding. Repairs are being scheduled; updates to come.
KY 339, just north of Lowes, is closed at mile point 33.25 due to the closure of a bridge over Little Brush Creek. This bridge is scheduled to be replaced. Estimated completion for the overall bridge replacement project is around the end of September.
Hickman County The intersection of U.S. 51 and KY 58 in Clinton is a flashing four-way stop as part of a 90-day traffic study. Intersecting roadways are KY 58/W. Clay Street and KY 123/E. Clay Street.
KY 780 is closed at the 3.818 MP at the Bayou de Chien Bridge. This is between U.S. 51 and Martin Road. Estimate for project completion around Fall 2025.
Lyon County KY 295 is closed at the 9.419 MP at the Livingston Creek Bridge at the Crittenden-Lyon County Line. A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimated project completion is around the end of September, weather permitting.
A nighttime lane restriction (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) is in effect along Interstate 24 from the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge to KY 293. Reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone. Part of a micro-paving project on Interstates 24 and 69, set to finish by September 30.
Marshall County KY 402/Aurora Highway is closed at the 9.9 MP (Clarks River Bridge). A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimated project completion is around the end of July 2026.
KY 2595/Lakeview Church Road is closed at mile point 3.3 for the construction of a new bridge. Estimated project completion is around mid-October.
McCracken County Lane restrictions are in effect on the Interstate 24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Metropolis until October 14. One lane in each direction. Concrete barriers are installed across the length of the bridge with a 10-foot, 6-inch width restriction. Reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone.
A nighttime lane restriction (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) is in effect along Interstate 24 from Exit 16 to the I-24 Ohio River Bridge. Reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone. Part of a micro-paving project on Interstates 24 and 69, set to finish by September 30.
