I-75 Asphalt Rehabilitation in Rockcastle County Begins Sunday, July 27

Motorists advised to use caution through the work zone

SOMERSET, Ky. (July 23, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 8 Office advises motorists that asphalt work will start Sunday night, July 27, on I-75 in Rockcastle County.

The project, between milepoint 50 and 52, is expected to take at least a month, during which, northbound and southbound traffic on I-75 will each be reduced to one lane at night with two lanes open during the day. 

All night work will take place on Sundays and Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. or Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

KYTC reminds drivers to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone. Please slow down, eliminate distractions, and remain alert for construction personnel and equipment.

Dates and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
