Traffic Advisory: Lane closures on Richmond/Athens-Boonesboro Roads in
Fayette County
For preliminary construction work
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 24, 2025) – Motorists should watch for lane closures this week along Richmond Road/US 25 and Athens-Boonesboro Road/KY 418 corridor in Fayette County for preliminary construction work.
Wednesday, June 25 – 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Thursday, June 26 – 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Richmond Road/US 25 - the project limits include milepoints 7.8 – 9.7 (Richmond Road/US 25) and 0.0 – 1.87 (Athens-Boonesboro Road)
- alternating single lane closures (for all lanes) will be in effect between Athens-Boonesboro Road/KY 418 and Ashley Woods Way (CR)
- motorists will be able to pass through the work zone
The work is part of upcoming highway improvements in the area. A construction timeline will be announced.
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
