Emergency Closure Scheduled on KY 7 in Letcher County for CSX Railroad Repairs
Closure begins Sunday, June 22, at 7:30 a.m.
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (Month XX, 2025) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 advises the public that KY 7 will be closed at mile point 19.47 in Letcher County beginning Sunday, June 22, at 7:30 a.m. due to emergency railroad repairs by CSX Transportation.
CSX crews will be replacing damaged rails at the railroad crossing, requiring a full closure of KY 7 at the work site. The road is expected to remain closed through Tuesday morning, June 24, weather permitting.
Detour signage will be posted, and motorists must utilize alternate routes during the closure.
Please do not attempt to bypass barricades and always use caution in the area.
