JACKSON, Ky. – KY 77 in the Red River Gorge in Menifee County, which had been closed since late winter between milepoints 1 and 2 due to a major pavement break, will reopen to one-lane traffic on Friday, June 20.
However, work will continue at the site through the following week, resulting in traffic delays. In addition, a daytime closure will be necessary one day next week to facilitate the repairs.
The break is located just north of the KY 715 intersection, on the hill descending from Tarr Ridge into the Red River Gorge.
Drivers should use extreme caution in this area, be alert for workers and equipment, and yield to oncoming traffic.
