Operations scheduled for Paris Pike/US 68 in Fayette County
Asphalt strip patching
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 7, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled strip patching work for Paris Pike/US 68. Roadway distress occurs in many forms; rutting from tire wheels, uplifting of soil (from water) underneath the asphalt which causes mounding, cracking and potholes. Strip patching is a process for eliminating the distress by smoothing out the areas and then applying asphalt or concrete.
Monday, June 9 – 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. (Northbound)
Tuesday, June 10 – 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. (Southbound)
Paris Pike/US 68
- operations will be located at the intersection with Kingston Road (CR) and Paris Pike (milepoint 10.5) and extending to the Fayette-Bourbon County line (milepoint 16.0)
- alternating lane closures will be in effect with flaggers onsite to guide and direct traffic
- motorists will be able to pass through the work zone
- the traveling public should expect minor delays and should utilize an alternate route if possible
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
