Next Phase of Town Branch/Bull Creek Project to Begin in Floyd County

Town Branch Road (KY 3384) to Close at US 23; Detour in Effect Starting June 9

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (June 6, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 advises the public that the next phase of construction on the Town Branch/Bull Creek Project in Floyd County is scheduled to begin Monday, June 9, bringing more temporary changes to local traffic patterns.

With utility relocation work wrapping up at the mouth of Town Branch Road (KY 3384), the project’s prime contractor, Mountain Enterprise, will begin grading work in that area. As part of this phase, Town Branch Road will be closed at its connection with US 23, affecting the first approximately 250–300 feet of the roadway from the intersection.

Traffic Impacts and Detour Information:

  • Starting early Monday, June 9, barricades and detour signage will be installed.
  • No traffic will be able to enter or exit Town Branch Road at US 23 during this phase.
  • Motorists who normally use this access point must take the following detour: From US 23, follow KY 114 into Prestonsburg, then turn onto KY 1428, which connects to the other end of Town Branch Road.
