Update - Project to begin for Lexington Road/US 27 in Garrard County

Highway Safety Improvement Program

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 3, 2025)  KYTC advises motorists that this news release serves as an update. The RCUT project for Lexington Road/US 27 is progressing. Safety and traffic flow will be upgraded with construction of the Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT).

The RCUT project is located for the Lexington Road/US 27 intersection with Rogers Road/KY 1845 and Old Lexington Road (CR 1351). RCUTS are a type of intersection that have been proven to be highly effective for reducing delays and making roads safer. They are significantly less expensive than constructing additional travel lanes.

The work is part of the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). The HSIP program is designed to provide safety upgrades for roadways. The anticipated completion date for the work is Thursday, July 31, 2025.
