Resurfacing Project on Gardnersville Road (KY 491) and Keefer Road (KY 2936) in Grant County Now Underway
Single lane closures expected throughout the project limits
COVINGTON, Ky. (June 3, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that a resurfacing project is now underway in Grant County.
Crews will be resurfacing sections of two state routes:
- Gardnersville Road (KY 491) from U.S. 25 (mile point 3.98) extending east to North Fork Drive (mile point 5.42), a distance of 1.44 miles.
- Keefer Road (KY 2936) from Keefer-Lawrenceville Road (mile point 0.0) to U.S. 25 (mile point 3.69), a distance of 3.69 miles.
Base failure repairs on Keefer Road began Today, June 3. Once work is complete on Keefer Road, crews will move to Gardnersville Road to perform repairs ahead of resurfacing. Milling and paving operations will follow after base repairs have had sufficient time to cure.
Motorists should expect single lane closures during daytime working hours throughout the project limits. Flaggers will be used on both sides of the work zone to guide traffic safely through. Plan ahead, and anticipate delays during peak travel times.
The Mago Construction Company LLC is contracted to perform the $597,910 project on behalf of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The project is expected to be completed by June 30, 2025.
Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
