PADUCAH, Ky. (May 22, 2025) – A daytime lane restriction will continue on Interstate 24 eastbound in Lyon County through midday Friday, May 23.
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will begin work at 4:30 a.m. Friday and expects to finish by around 11 a.m. Crews will be sealing pavement cracks to complete this phase of the project.
The work zone is located between the Cumberland River Bridge and the KY 810 overpass, just east of the weigh station, or mile markers 33.9 to 36.4. A reduced speed limit of 55 mph is in effect in the work zone.
Motorists are urged to slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution where workers and equipment are in the roadway near traffic flow.
The project will pause over the holiday weekend.
The overall project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2025.
