Daytime Closure and Delays on KY 1469 in Pike County for Flood-Related Repairs
Work begins on the Right Fork of Long Fork Road on May 8
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (May 06, 2025) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 advises the public that KY 1469 (Right Fork of Long Fork Road) will be closed daily to through traffic between mile points 3.0 and 4.2 beginning Thursday, May 8, weather permitting.
The daytime closure is necessary to repair road and embankment damage caused by recent flooding. Because KY 1469 is a one-lane road, normal traffic flow cannot be maintained during drilling operations. Motorists can expect traffic holds of 15–20 minutes during cribbing and backfill activities.
Work hours are scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Crews will work around local school traffic to minimize disruption. With favorable weather, repairs are expected to take 2 to 3 weeks to complete.
Drivers are urged to plan ahead for delays, obey all posted signs, and use extra caution when traveling through work zones. Your patience is appreciated as we work to repair the roadway and ensure safety for all users.
