Demolition of Former Grocery Store to Begin May 5 at KY 139/KY 124 Intersection in Cadiz
Work marks start of $872,000 intersection reconstruction project
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 1, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is scheduled to begin demolition of the former Wilson’s Grocery building in Cadiz on Monday, May 5. The building is located at the corner of KY 139/Jefferson Street and KY 124/Cerulean Road.
Traffic impacts during demolition are expected to be minimal. However, flaggers will be present to assist motorists in the work zone whenever equipment enters or exits the site via KY 139.
This work is part of a $872,000 project to realign and reconstruct the KY 139/KY 124 intersection.
KYTC District 1 will provide timely notice of any necessary road closures or lane restrictions as the project progresses.
The project is expected to be completed in its entirety by November 15.
