Resurfacing Project on Pike Street/Main Street (U.S. 25) in Kenton County Beginning Monday, April 28
Crews will work between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.
COVINGTON, Ky. (April 24, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of an upcoming resurfacing project on Pike Street/Main Street (U.S. 25) in Kenton County beginning Monday, April 28.
Crews will resurface U.S. 25 from east of Simon Kenton Way (12.75 mile point) to Fourth Street (KY 8) (13.45 mile point), a distance of 0.7 miles. This section of road is located in Covington.
Weather permitting, beginning Monday, April 28, crews will perform base failure repairs in the project area. This work will take place between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Base failures are expected to take two nights of work. Milling and paving operations will follow. KYTC will provide an update once milling/paving work has been scheduled.
Motorists should expect single lane closures throughout the project area during working hours. In areas where there are two lanes, traffic will be maintained using flaggers. In areas where there are three lanes or more, one lane will be maintained in each direction.
Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during the evening/overnight working hours to avoid delays. Please, drive safely through the work zone.
This work is being performed during the evening/overnight hours to minimize travel disruptions in a high traffic volume area. No lane closures will be permitted on weekends from Friday at 5 p.m. to Sunday at 8 p.m.
Eaton Asphalt Paving Co. Inc, is contracted to perform the $266,212 project on behalf of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The project is expected to be completed by June 30, 2025.
Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
