Asphalt Work Scheduled This Week on KY 1469 and KY 1148 in Letcher County
Flaggers will direct alternating traffic through work zones
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (Apr. 15, 2025) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 advises motorists that asphalt patching is scheduled to take place along KY 1469 (Long Fork) and KY 1148 (Little Colley Road) this week in Letcher County.
Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, April 16, and continue through Thursday, April 17, weather permitting. Mountain Enterprises has been contracted to perform the work.
Crews will work along various locations on both routes from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m. each day. KY 1469 will be patched first, followed by KY 1148.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zones, with flaggers directing alternating traffic. Motorists should expect brief delays and are urged to slow down and use caution when traveling through the area.
In addition, crews will be continuing work on KY 2034 in Letcher County tomorrow, April 15.
All work is dependent on weather conditions. KYTC appreciates the public’s patience while this maintenance work is completed to improve roadway conditions.
