TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Closure of KY 53 (Mt. Eden Road) Beginning Monday, April 14, in Shelby County

KYTC crews to perform routine maintenance of the roadway

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 11, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the closure of a section of KY 53 (Mt. Eden Road) beginning Monday, April 14, in Shelby County.

KY 53 (Mt. Eden Road) will be closed from mile point 1.62 (at Lisby Lane) to mile point 2.4 beginning Monday, April 14, at 7:30 a.m., through Friday, May 2. The closure is necessary to allow KYTC crews to replace cross drains, repair base failures, and implement slope protection measures along the route. Drivers should expect to follow detours along the affected area while work is underway.

Following the replacement of the cross drains, crews will place a layer of dense-grade rock over them until asphalt can be laid. Drivers should exercise caution when driving over the newly replaced cross drains.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
