Closure of Bridge on KY 217 Over Brownie’s Creek with Junction of KY 987 in Bell County begins Thursday, April 10

MANCHESTER, Ky. (April 9, 2025) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists the bridge on KY 217 at mile point 8.8 over Brownie’s Creek at the junction with KY 987 in Bell County will be closed to all traffic beginning Thursday, April 10 at 3 p.m.

The closure is necessary due to a project for replacement of the beams and deck structure. It is anticipated the closure will be in place for approximately four months to allow for project development and implementation.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date and time could be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
