TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Speed Limit Reductions on KY 53 and KY 712 in Oldham County
New speed limit signs to be placed today, March 26
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 26, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of speed limit reductions on KY 53 and KY 712 (Jericho Road) today, March 26, in Oldham County.
On KY 53, the speed limit will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph beginning at the intersection of Ernie Harris Parkway, extending north to the existing 35 mph zone at the I-71 South signalized interchange. The 35 mph speed limit on KY 53 will remain in place and extend just north of Water Works Road. Additionally, a new 45 mph speed limit will be in place on KY 53 from just north of Water Works Road, continuing north to approximately 800 feet north of Cedar Springs Parkway.
The speed limit on KY 712 (Jericho Road) will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph, beginning just west of the I-71 overpass and continuing for approximately 0.2 miles. Beyond that point, the speed limit will decrease to 35 mph, extending west to the La Grange city limits.
KYTC crews are scheduled to update the speed limit signs today, March 26. Motorists should heed signage, use caution, and adhere to newly posted speed limits.
