TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Closure of U.S. 42 Friday, March 7, in Oldham County

KYTC crews to replace cross drain ahead of upcoming resurfacing project

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 5, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the closure of a section of U.S. 42 on Friday, March 7, in Oldham County.

U.S. 42 will be closed from mile point 9.2 (at the U.S. 42/KY 393 intersection) to mile point 13.02 (at the U.S. 42/KY 53 intersection) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure is necessary as crews work to replace a cross drain ahead of an upcoming resurfacing project. Motorists should expect to follow detours around the affected area while work is underway.

Following the replacement of the cross drain, crews will place a layer of dense-grade rock over it until asphalt can be laid. Drivers should exercise caution when driving over the newly replaced cross drain.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
