COVINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 27, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 6 Office announces temporary road closures on Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) and AA Highway (KY 9) in Cold Spring, due to ongoing blasting operations associated with the Cold Spring Pointe development.

Impacted Areas:

  • Alexandria Pike:Closure area begins near Harvest Trail extending onto the AA Highway overpass (13.3 – 13.9 mile points). Traffic will be stopped in both directions.
  • AA Highway:Closure area begins at Exit 14 to Alexandria Pike (13.6 – 14.3 mile points). Traffic will be stopped in both directions.

Due to inclement weather, the blasting schedule has been adjusted. These sections of Alexandria Pike and AA Highway will be closed for approximately 10 minutes beginning at 1 p.m. on the following updated dates:

  • Thursday, Feb. 27
  • Wednesday, March 5
  • Friday, March 7

The brief closures are necessary to ensure the safety of both construction workers and motorists during the controlled blasting operations. KYTC urges all motorists to plan their travel accordingly and seek alternate routes during these times to avoid delays.

This work is weather permitting. If any additional schedule changes occur, KYTC will provide updates via social media and the District 6 Roadshow.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
