District 4 Crews Responding to Incoming Snow
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (Feb. 18, 2025) – As snow moves into counties of District 4, crews are ready to begin plowing. Half of our crews are on duty this evening while the next line is reporting for a shift change at midnight.
With several inches of accumulation expected, all roads will become covered overnight. Residual treatments from Sunday and early Monday along with brine applications ahead of this weather system will help limit compacted snow and ice bonding to pavement surfaces. Forecast temperatures remain below freezing until Saturday, with sunshine currently expected Thursday and Friday. Higher volume routes will respond to salt and calcium treatments Wednesday and especially Thursday and Friday with sun, but many lower volume routes will likely remain compacted and partially covered for the next few days, particularly in shaded areas.
Motorists should make travel plans by incorporating current forecasts and expected snow-covered roads along with remaining flood closure locations. Visit www.SnowKY.ky.gov for planning and driving tips, along with current road conditions.
