Rolling Roadblock on I-71 in Boone County on Thursday, Jan. 16
Crews will be pothole patching between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
COVINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 16, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of rolling roadblocks on Interstate 71 in Boone County on Thursday, Jan. 16. Traffic will be temporarily slowed down and, at times, stopped to allow crews space to patch potholes. This project will improve safety on the area interstates.
Crews will be patching potholes on I-71 between the I-71 and I-75 split (mile point 76.67) and the Boone/Gallatin County line (mile point 69.91), a distance of 6.76 miles.
The crews are expecting to work first on I-71 southbound. Once that work has been completed, crews will shift to the I-71 northbound lanes. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, and to find an alternate route during these hours to avoid delays.
Weather permitting, this pothole patching project should be completed by Friday, Jan. 17 at 6 a.m.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates on the District 6 Roadshow.
