KYTC District 2 Crews Prepping for Snow Removal
Hazardous conditions possible tomorrow
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 9, 2025) – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2 crews are preparing for the arrival of Winter Storm Cora, which the National Weather Service predicts will hit western Kentucky early Friday morning.
NWS in Paducah has placed all of western Kentucky under a Winter Storm Warning, forecasting that the winter weather event will move into the District between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. tomorrow, bringing four to five inches snowfall by 8 p.m. Friday evening.
Snow and ice crews began pretreating roadways today, and will be on standby tonight to begin snow removal as they await the arrival of Winter Storm Cora.
Motorists are urged to give snow and ice vehicles plenty of space while on the road. Snow plows will are slower moving that other traffic and have restricted visibility.
