KYTC District 7 forces patrolling and treating routes

Snow is currently falling in all of the D7 counties

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 5, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises that crews are currently patrolling and treating state routes. Personnel readied equipment ahead of time for the winter event. This included trucks for plowing and salting routes. In addition, chain and pole saws along with other safety equipment will be utilized if necessary.

Routes were pre-treated on Saturday to assist with melting and preventing ice from forming. Significant amounts of snow, sleet, and freezing rain could result in major impacts and hazardous conditions. Power outages and tree damage could occur with the low temperatures.
