Western Kentucky University’s Commencements to Create Extra Traffic Friday
Motorists may want to avoid areas near WKU’s campus
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Dec. 5, 2024) – Western Kentucky University’s (WKU) graduation commencements are scheduled to take place throughout the day on Friday, Dec. 6 beginning at 8 a.m. There are multiple commencements throughout the day and traffic is expected to be heavy on routes near WKU’s campus. The extra traffic near WKU’s campus is in addition to the local school traffic in the mornings and afternoons for McNeill Elementary School located off University Boulevard and Creason Street.
Motorists may want to avoid areas near WKU’s campus beginning at 7 a.m. into the early afternoon. Message boards have been put in place to warn motorists of the upcoming event traffic. U.S. 231X/U.S. 68X University Boulevard, U.S. 68X Kentucky Street, U.S. 68 Adams Street, and U.S. 68 Russellville Road are examples of some of the routes motorists may want to avoid on Friday.
