Ramp Closure Scheduled for I-64/I-75 in
Fayette County Overnight Thursday, October 17
I-64/I-75 northbound exit ramp at Newtown Pike closed 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 16, 2024) – Construction for the I-75 widening project in Lexington will require a temporary overnight ramp closure on I-64/75 on Thursday, Oct. 17. The closure will allow contractors to pave the ramp.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday night, contractors will close the northbound exit ramp of I-64/I-75 at Exit 115 (Newtown Pike). The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Thursday, October 17
- At Exit 115 (Paris Pike) the northbound exit ramp from I-64/I-75 will close at 9 p.m. Please plan accordingly and use a different exit.
- The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday morning.
The work is part of the I-75 widening project. When complete in 2026, this project will reduce congestion and improve safety throughout the 2-mile corridor from the Newtown Pike exit to the Paris Pike exit. It is the first of two projects to widen I-64/75 to four lanes each direction in Fayette County. Find more information online at DrivingLexingtonProgress.org.
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
