Bridge Repair Project on Hal Rogers Parkway (Clay County) is Expected to Start Monday, September 16

MANCHESTER, Ky. (September 13, 2024) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists that a bridge repair project begins in Clay County on Monday, September 16.

The project will shift traffic on Hal Rogers Parkway at mile point 21.518 to the east bound side to clear way for repairs underneath the west bound lanes. Traffic will remain one lane in each direction in this configuration except when flagging is necessary.

Traffic traveling below the structure on U.S. 421 at mile point 15.771 will be reduced to one lane in each direction to provide adequate space to work and not be above moving traffic.

This lane closure is set to be placed into effect on Monday, September 16.

The work is necessary to fix structural steel members on the bridge that has limited its load capacity. Construction is expected to be complete by Tuesday, October 15.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date and time could be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can access travel and traffic conditions at http://goky.ky.gov or contribute their reports at www.waze.com or via the Waze mobile application.
