Daily 10 Minute Closures on Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) and AA Highway (KY 9) in Campbell County Will Conclude on Friday, Sept. 6

UPDATE (Sept. 6, 2024) – Daily blasting will conclude on Friday, Sept. 6. The contractor on the project site has indicated additional blasting that requires temporary road closures on Alexandria Pike and the AA Highway will resume in several weeks. KYTC will advise with an additional press release, social media post and update on the District 6 Roadshow when these operations will resume.
COVINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 14, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 6 Office announces temporary road closures on Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) and AA Highway (KY 9) in Cold Spring, due to scheduled blasting operations associated with the Cold Spring Pointe development.
Impacted Areas:

Alexandria Pike: Closure area begins near Harvest Trail extending onto the AA Highway overpass. (13.35 – 13.85 mile points) Traffic will be stopped in both directions.

AA Highway: Closure area begins at Exit 14 to Alexandria Pike (13.55 – 14.3 mile points). Traffic will be stopped in both directions.
These sections of Alexandria Pike and AA Highway will be closed for approximately 10 minutes daily at 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting Thursday, Aug. 15, and continuing through Friday, Sept. 13.
The brief daily closures are necessary to ensure the safety of both construction workers and motorists during the controlled blasting operations. KYTC urges all motorists to plan their travel accordingly and seek alternate routes during these times to avoid delays.
