Resurfacing Project on Two Portions of KY 8 in Campbell County Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 20
Crews will work between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
COVINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 16, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a resurfacing project on two sections of KY 8 in Campbell County beginning Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The contractor will perform base failures on the first section of Industrial Road (KY 8) on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Crews will be working between U.S. 27 (mile point 0.683) and KY 445 (mile point 2.884), a distance of 2.201 miles. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. Crews will work between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Once the base failure repairs have cured, crews will return to the site to perform milling and paving operations. We will provide an update via our District 6 Roadshow once that work is scheduled.
The second portion of the resurfacing project on Mary Ingles Highway (KY 8) will begin just west of the Pendery Sports Park (mile point 6.781), and end near Fender Road (mile point 9.785), a distance of 3.004 miles. KYTC will advise via our District 6 Roadshow once milling and paving operations have been scheduled. Once milling and paving operations begin, this section of road will be down to a single lane between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Flaggers will be used on both sides of the project area to guide traffic safely through the work zone.
Motorists are advised to find an alternate route to avoid possible delays during peak travel periods.
The asphalt resurfacing project is being done by Mago Construction Company LLC under a $793,302.29 Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contract. The project is expected to be completed by Nov. 15, 2024.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates on the District 6 Roadshow.
