DISTRICTWIDE

VARIOUS ROUTES: Districtwide striping is in progress. Contractors are striping various routes within the district: Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. Most work will occur during daytime working hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Routes with higher traffic volume will be completed during nights or weekends to minimize traffic impacts.

Contractors are currently striping in: Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties.
- Weather permitting, Interstate striping in Grant and Kenton counties on Sunday, Aug. 18 during overnight hours.
BOONE COUNTY:

Entrance ramp to I-75 NB from U.S. 42 EB – 14.07 mile point – The City of Florence will be temporarily closing the entrance ramp to I-75 northbound from U.S. 42 eastbound for necessary work related to an ongoing sanitary sewer lining project.
The closure will occur during the following times:
Beginning at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21
Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 to 5 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31
ADDITIONALLY, intermittent closures are possible between 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Wednesday, Aug. 21 to Thursday, Aug. 29 to accommodate the delivery of supplies and repositioning of equipment.
Signage and a message board will be installed to inform of the closures in advance.
Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes during these times.

Mineola Pike (KY 3076)/Olympic Blvd. Intersection – 0.818 mile point – Overnight traffic impacts at the Mineola Pike/Olympic Blvd. intersection are now complete.
BRACKEN COUNTY:

Mary Ingles Highway W (KY 8) 3.59 – 13.95 mile points – A safety improvement project on KY 8 from Willow Creek Road to Big Bracken Creek bridge just east of KY 19 is now complete.

VARIOUS ROUTES IN BRACKEN: Paving operations on Bladeston Drive (KY 1159) and Courts Hill Road (KY 1289) will begin on Monday, Aug. 19, as part of an ongoing preventative maintenance project.
-Bladeston Drive (KY 1159) beginning at Perkins Ridge Road (KY 1011) (3.39 mile point) extending north to AA Highway (KY 9) (4.35 mile points), a distance of 0.95 miles.
-Courts Hill Road (KY 1289) beginning at Perkins Ridge Road (KY 1011) (0.0 mile point) extending north to Western Hills Road (KY 1109) (1.26 mile point), a distance of 1.26 miles.
All work will be performed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. During working hours, a single lane closure will be in place with flagger on-site to direct traffic around the work zone.
The cape seal project will begin with a chip interlayer followed by a thin lift of asphalt surface a couple days after the chip interlayer is applied. After a cape seal treatment, roadways will contain some loose aggregate and produce a slight increase in driving noise for a short period until a smooth riding surface is applied. This type of treatment lowers upkeep and construction costs significantly.
This project is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2024
CAMPBELL COUNTY:

Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) – 13.35 – 13.85 mile points AND AA Highway (KY 9) – 13.55 – 14.3 mile points – A temporary road closure on Alexandria Pike and AA Highway will begin Thursday, Aug. 15, due to scheduled blasting operations associated with the Cold Spring Pointe Development.
Alexandria Pike: Closure area begins near Harvest Trail extending onto the AA Highway overpass. Traffic will be stopped in both directions.
AA Highway: Closure area begins at Exit 14 to Alexandria Pike. Traffic will be stopped in both directions.
10-minute closure at approximately 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, from Friday, Aug. 16 to Friday, Sept. 13.
- NOTE: Due to inclement weather, no blasting will occur on Friday, Aug. 16. Blasting operations will resume on Monday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m.

West Main Street (KY 10) – 0.0 – 1.27 mile point – A resurfacing project on West Main Street from Licking Pike (KY 915) extending east to just west of Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Contractors will be working on base failure repairs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. A single lane closure will be in place during working hours with flaggers on-site to direct traffic around the work zone.
Once base failure repairs have cured, crews will return to the site to perform milling/paving operations. We will provide an update once that work is scheduled.
This project has an expected completion date of Nov. 15, 2024.

Industrial Road (KY 8) – 0.68 – 2.88 mile points – A resurfacing project on Industrial Road from U.S. 27 to KY 445 will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Crews will work between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Crews will begin by addressing base failures in the project area. A single lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Once base failure repairs have cured, crews will return to the site to perform milling/paving operations. We will provide an update once that work is scheduled.
The project is expected to be completed Nov. 15, 2024.

Mary Ingles Highway (KY 8) – 6.78 – 9.78 mile points – A resurfacing project on Mary Ingles Highway from west of the Pendery Sports Park to Fender Road will begin soon. Milling and paving operations have not yet been scheduled. KYTC will provide an update once the work is scheduled.
Once milling/paving operations have been scheduled, crews will work between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Motorists should expect a single lane closure, with flaggers guiding traffic safely through the work zone.
The project is expected to be completed Nov. 15, 2024.
GALLATIN COUNTY:

Glencoe Verona Road (KY 16) – 0.0 – 0.60-mile point – A resurfacing project on Glencoe Verona Road from U.S. 127 extending north to KY 455 will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
Construction signage has been installed throughout the project limits. Paving/milling operations are scheduled to follow. Motorists should expect single lane closures during daytime working hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic.
The project has an expected completion date of Nov. 15, 2024.

U.S. 127 – 0.0 – 3.34 mile point – A resurfacing project on U.S. 127 from the Owen/Gallatin County line extending north to Old U.S. 127 will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 13
Construction signage has been installed throughout the project limits. Paving/milling operations are scheduled to follow. Additionally, sidewalk work is scheduled for U.S. 127. Motorists should expect single lane closures during daytime working hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic.
The project has an expected completion date of Nov. 15, 2024.

Johnson Road (KY 455) – 2.20 – 4.11 mile point – A resurfacing project on Johnson Road from the north end of the I-71 bridge extending north to about a mile north of KY 465 will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
Construction signage has been installed throughout the project limits. Paving/milling operations are scheduled to follow. Motorists should expect single lane closures during daytime working hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic.
The project has an expected completion date of Nov. 15, 2024.
KENTON COUNTY:

John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge – 24 – 24.3 mile points – The Roebling Suspension Bridge will have single lane closures during the weeks of Aug. 19 and 26 for a routine bridge inspection. Flaggers will direct traffic around the work zone. One sidewalk will remain open, while the other may be closed temporarily. Expect brief, full closures of the bridge for about an hour at a time to stage inspection equipment onto the sidewalks.

- Wednesday, Aug. 21 TBD

Banklick Road (KY 2043) – 5.80 – 7.97 mile points – A resurfacing project on Banklick Road from Walton Nicholson Road (KY 16) extending north to just south of Wright Road is in progress.
Base failure repairs are now complete. Milling/paving operations are scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 19, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A single lane closure will be in place during these daytime work hours. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic.

Crescent Springs Pike/Anderson Road (KY 2373) – 0.95 – 3.11 mile points – A resurfacing project on Crescent Springs Pike/Anderson Road from the I-275 overpass extending north to Beechwood Road is near completion.
Sidewalk work, base failure repairs and milling/paving operations are now complete. Thermoplastic striping is now in progress. This work is weather permitting.
