US 460 restricted to one-lane traffic in Frenchburg beginning Monday, Aug. 12

West end of Old Campus Road also closed for culvert installation

JACKSON, Ky. Beginning Monday, Aug. 12, US 460 on the west side of downtown Frenchburg in Menifee County will be reduced to one lane at milepoint 8.464 for installation of a culvert as part of a reconstruction project.

Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals for three to four weeks while the culvert is being installed. Concrete barriers will be in place to restrict traffic.

In addition, the west end of Old Campus Road will be closed during the culvert installation. Drivers can use the east end of Old Campus Road as a detour during the project.

The work is part of a $16 million project to realign US 460 between milepoints 6.2 (the eastern foot of Rothwell Hill) and 8.5 (the bridge over Beaver Creek) to improve geometrics and increase safety. Nearly 4,400 vehicles use this section of US 460 each day.
