Weather forecast forces another postponement of closure of KY 2025 in Owsley County
New date is Monday, Aug. 5
JACKSON, Ky. – Rain in the weather forecast means that the scheduled closure of KY 2025 (White Oak Creek) in Owsley County has been postponed yet again. The new rescheduled closure date is Monday, Aug. 5. Inclement weather has forced the postponement of the closure on three previous attempts.
The road will be closed at milepoint 4.13 for replacement of a drainage pipe. This location is near the intersection of Right Fork of White Oak Road. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and should be completed by 5 p.m.
No marked detour will be posted. Drivers can use KY 847, KY 1938, and KY 11 as an alternate route to bypass the closure. Portable electronic message boards will be in place to notify drivers of the closure.
In case of inclement weather, the closure may be postponed again until another suitable date.
Fewer than 40 vehicles use this section of KY 2025 each day.
