Norfolk Southern Schedules Crossing Closure for Emergency Repairs at KY 1056/WV 49 Matewan
July 14 at 8 a.m. for 24-hours
PIKEVILLE, Ky.(July 10, 2024) – Norfolk Southern advises the public of a 24-hour closure for emergency rail repairs. Norfolk Southern will close the crossing at the KY 1056 (Bridge Street) and WV 49 (Matewan) Intersection. The crossing is located in Matewan, WV (0.08 miles North of KY 1056 and the KY/WV line).
The crossing will be closed on July 14, starting at 8 a.m., for approximately 24 hours. Motorists will need to plan for this delay and use an alternate route when possible. Detours include KY 1056 to KY 319 to US 119 to US 52 to WV 49. All inquiries should be directed to Norfolk Southern.
