Section of Hands Pike (KY 1501) in Kenton County Closed Following Crash

Repairs to road and box culvert necessary for safety of motoring public

COVINGTON, Ky. (July 7, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has closed a section of Hands Pike (KY 1501) following an early morning crash on Sunday, July 7.

Hands Pike is closed between Otter Drive (mile point 1.26) and Calvary Christian Drive (mile point 2.17), a distance of 0.91 miles.

The crash caused damage to a box culvert, and broke off an edge of the road. Out of an abundance of caution, KYTC has closed this portion of Hands Pike.

Local traffic is able to get by the barricades to access nearby homes. Please, drive carefully through this area.

DETOUR: KY 16 to Waymans Branch Road (KY 3716) to KY 17.

KYTC will provide further updates on social media and the District 6 Roadshow regarding the timing for repairs, and when the road will reopen.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates on the District 6 Roadshow. Follow KYTC District 6 on Facebook or Twitter.
