UPDATE (June 28, 2024) -- Due to the possibility of inclement weather this weekend, the double lane closure on I-275 westbound will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 28, to 5 a.m. on Monday, July 1. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays and find an alternate route.

COVINGTON, Ky. (June 25, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of traffic impacts on Interstate 275 westbound in Boone County beginning Friday, June 28.

Beginning at 7 p.m., there will be a single lane closure on I-275 westbound from the Boone/Kenton County line (mile point 1.58), to west of KY 237 (mile point 7.25). This will become a double lane closure at 9 p.m. I-275 westbound will be down to a single lane from 9 p.m. on Friday, June 28, to 5 a.m. on Sunday, June 30.

Crews will be installing permanent tape and inlaid markers throughout the project area. This work is part of the on-going diamond grinding project on I-275 between the Boone/Kenton County line to west of the KY 237 (Hebron Exit).

Motorists should expect delays if traveling on I-275 westbound, and are encouraged to find alternate routes to avoid delays.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
