Bridge deck restoration project begins on KY 15 in Powell County
JACKSON, Ky. – A bridge deck restoration and waterproofing project that begins on Tuesday, June 25, on KY 15 in Powell County will result in lane closures and width restrictions.
The bridge carrying KY 15 over the Mountain Parkway at Exit 16 in Clay City will be reduced to one 12-foot lane in each direction while the work is ongoing. Loads wider than 12 feet will need to use an alternate route. No wide-load detour will be posted. Barrier wall installation will begin on Tuesday, June 25.
There may be some shoulder and lane closures beneath the bridge on the Mountain Parkway during the duration of the project. Mountain Parkway traffic should be alert to lane closures and slow down and use caution in the area of Exit 16.
The contractor will have 30 days to complete the project once work begins.
