TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Closure of KY 22 (Brownsboro Road) Beginning Monday, June 17, in Jefferson County

Intersection improvement project of KY 22 and Springcrest Drive continues

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 14, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the closure of a section of KY 22 (Brownsboro Road) beginning Monday, June 17, in Jefferson County.

To maintain a safe driving lane during the KY 22 and Springcrest Drive intersection improvement project, KY 22 will be fully closed between Cliffwynde Trce and Pine Hurst Lane beginning Monday, June 17, at 6 a.m., and continuing through Friday, June 28.

Traffic is currently reduced to one lane between Cliffwynde Trace and Pine Hurst Lane, with motorists being directed through the work zone via temporary signals. Following the 11-day full closure of KY 22, the existing lane closure on KY 22, as well as the closure of Springcrest Drive at KY 22, will continue through project completion, now anticipated for the fall of 2024.

The reconstruction of two 11-foot travel lanes and a left turn lane at the Springcrest Drive intersection are included in this project. Additionally, a 6-foot sidewalk will be installed along the north side of KY 22 between the entrance just east of Cliffwynde Trce and Brownhurst Cove Road.

Signs notifying motorists of the upcoming closure have been posted. Drivers should follow the posted detour and anticipate delays.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
