KYTC D-2 Weather Update at 4:30 p.m.

Current state of roadways in District 2

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (May 28, 2024) Due to heavy non-local traffic using KY 109 in the tornado impacted area interfering with utility work, county officials have closed KY 109 from Dunn Church to Charleston School to through traffic.

Highways that were closed as of last report:

Caldwell County
KY 91 blocked at multiple locations down to one lane due to downed power line — UPDATE: KY 91 south is now open to one lane traffic at the 9.4 mm, all other blockages have been cleared. KY 91 north still has trees and power lines down at multiple locations.
KY 139 north blocked by high water — UPDATE: Now open
KY 293 at KY 119 blocked by downed power lines — UPDATE: One lane open
KY 641 now has one lane open at the 2 mm due to downed trees and power lines

Christian County
US 41A  blocked by downed power lines from Lover’s Lane to I-24 -- UPDATE: US 41A is now blocked in both directions one mile south of the US 68 Bypass
KY 695 open with high water signs between the 4 & 5 mm

Daviess County
KY 279 blocked by tree at the intersection of KY 815. KY 815 is clear — UPDATE: Now open
KY 298 blocked by water
KY 405 blocked by downed power lines between 2.8 & 3.9 mm — UPDATE: Now open
KY 762 blocked by high water between the 0 & 2 mm -- UPDATE: Now open

Henderson County
US 41 north between the 16 & 17 mm blocked by high water — UPDATE: Now open

Hopkins County
KY 109 blocked by downed trees and utility work between the 4 & 5.8 mm — UPDATE: Has been closed again between Dunn Church and Charleston to allow utility work to continue
KY 112 blocked by trees near the community of Carbondale — UPDATE: Now open

McLean County
KY 1379 blocked by high water between 0 & 3 mm

Muhlenberg County
Western Kentucky Parkway has lane restrictions in multiple locations due to down trees - UPDATE: Now passable
US 431 blocked by downed trees UPDATE: Now open
US 62 blocked by downed trees UPDATE: Now open
KY 176 blocked by downed trees UPDATE: Now open
KY 246 blocked by down trees UPDATE: Now open
KY 601 blocked by downed trees at Nebo Cemetery Road. — UPDATE: Now passable

Ohio County
KY 136 blocked by downed power lines at Johnson Road near McLean County line. UPDATE: Now open

Union County
KY 130 north open with high water signs at 130 and 948 intersection. — UPDATE: open
KY 760 blocked by high water between the 1.5 & 2.6mm — UPDATE: Now open
KY 948 blocked by high water between the 1 & 2.3mm — UPDATE: Now open

Webster County
KY 132 blocked by high water between the 12 & 13 mm — UPDATE: Now open
KY 138 blocked by high water between the 10 & 10.8 mm — UPDATE: Now open
