Closure on KY 305/Cairo Rd in McCracken County for RR Crossing Work Tuesday & Wednesday

CNRR to reconstruct crossing at 4.6 mm

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 24, 2024)   Canadian National Railroad (CNRR) plans to close a section of KY 305/Cairo Road in western McCracken County on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 28 & 29, 2024.

KY 305/Cairo Road will be closed at mile point 4.6 to allow a railroad crossing to be reconstructed.  This crossing is along KY 305 about 1/2 mile north of the U.S. 60 intersection between U.S. 60 and KY 725/Woodville Road.

The roadway at this site is expected to close promptly at 7:30 a.m., CDT, Tuesday.  KY 305/Cairo Road is expected to remain closed until Wednesday afternoon.

There will be no marked detour. However, motorists may self-detour via KY 725/Woodville Road and KY 724/Steel Road, or via KY 1565/Mayfield Metropolis Road.

KYTC District 1 and CNRR will attempt to provide timely notice should the roadway reopen to traffic earlier than expected on Wednesday.
